Brakes

When driving fast, stopping power is needed!

Etc. etc. ... We've heard it all before...

This is how it stands:

1980 when I had increased the performance of my GSA, high speeds were everyday stuff. It would occur that I had to brake from 200 km/h to 100 km/h three times short after each other. The third time I literaly had to stand on the servo brake to get the thing to slow down. Apart from the fact that the rear of the car would try to overtake me, the brake effect was very little: Fading... Of course on either side of the gearbox, 2 "Supernovae" were desperatly trying to dissipate their excessive heat...
At a more modest speed, the lift was driven to and immediately the brakes were converted to ventilated discs. And... and... and... before the accelerator was floored again.

This as a small word of warning to those who increase the performance of their 4 cylinders 2CV and roadholding. At high speeds just "roadholding" isn't enough...

Some words of wisdom:

Brakepads that hardly wear and brakepads that last a lifetime don't brake...
