Engine Oil Temperature

Some people don't care... It's an unnecessary luxury!

Do you know this:

It always happends on a hot summer day at "WOT" and "Full Speed" on the "Highway". There's only one tug, but a big one... Now what? Phew, lucky you, only piston damage! (Optimist...!)

Or this one:

At first it's only a very silent but strange noise, then it turns louder, and louder, and louder until a Heavy Metall finish! A dark black hole! What? That wasn't there before, or was it? Through the sea of oil the crankshaft can be seen stretching it's broken legs. And, ... smell that: That is the smell of death... You've just heard the song of death a minute ago...

This or similar is how a Boxer comes to the end of it's career.

Well, keeping an eye on the oil temperature of a tuned engine and keeping it within limits is only luxury...

That's why we call the oilpressure light the "Idiot Light". When this lights up at full speed: BINGO... (you can began to think about the ordering of a new engine!)

P.S.: With thermostat controlled oil cooling the engine warms up very fast and the temperature stays between 100/110 °C.

Due to special configuration of the 2 kitcars, the serial engine oilcooler must be moved from up to down the engine front.
Next, the efficiency of the serial oilcooler is very poor, due to the fact that the cooler dont cool the main flow stream but only an auxiliary part of oil flow.
Problem come up when engine uprating is done: The small standard oilcooler is not able to dissipate the heat. A greater one must be used.

We deliver a complete kit for this purpose. The kit has:

Do you occasionally miss your oil pressure when hard cornering?

Because of high lateral acceleration, the oil stays away from the oil pickup in the sump, the pump suc air and the oil pressure collapses resulting in a very interesting working environnement for conrod bearings and journals at 6000 or 7000 rpm...!!!

It won't go wrong a few times, but the end will come, as sure as death...

No podium, fame and honour...

To solve this problem, a oil pressure accumulator is needed. This device supplies oil pressure when the engine pump oil pressure is gone !
