After all these years, we are still proud of our development
of the solid state, breakerless ignition system for the 2CV, the Piranha
Electronic Ignition.
A cause for celebration: There have been no warranty
problems even with numerous operating installations. We think this says
a great deal about this system's reliability.
This breakerless ignition kit is installed in your 2CV without permanently modifying any part of your car.
The Piranha Electronic Ignition is a plug and play kit that can easily be installed by the home mechanic. It's an easy Do-It -Yourself project. If you can change breaker points and set ignition timing you can install the Piranha system. Especially the control LED can be a great help for checking the timing point.

One subtle advantage, probably not needed as has been our experience, is
that you can easily reinstall your old breaker points at any time if for
some reason you wish to do so. Should there be a failure of your breakerless
ignition, you are not lost in the world of electronics, you can easily
revert to the original breaker point setup. Carry the old breaker points
in the car, just in case. The electronics of the Piranha system are standard
readily available components obtainable in most any electronic shop. The
electronic parts can be changed easily without problems. The trigger is
a standard LED and a phototransistor. All the parts are easily accessible.
With the efficient fuel igniting spark delivery via the
Piranha Electronic Ignition System,
you will never be helpless or hopeless on the road.
