Visa Ignition

Because of technical grounds, the spark plug seat on the VISA cylinderhead should be modified. The ignition retard and subsequent delayed combustion are prevented this way, and it allows for "normal" sparkplugs to be used.

This is why we offer:

The Visa ignition module

The available ignition modules are distinguished by the typification:

V A 1 V D 1   and   V A 4 V D 4

First of all, it has to be said that the more interesting module is the VA1VD1.
These are available from us, off the shelf. Just as the VA4VD4.

The reason why one is better then the other would lead us to a study in Ignition Timing. And this wouldn't fit within this site. The technical interested should be able to find enough publications to cure their curiosity. Those of you who don't want to dig that deep will either have to accepted what is written here or ignore it...

The ignition vacum advance, advances the ignition 10° on light load.

The ignition timing on full load has been set by the designer at 34° before T.D.C.

Idle is set at 10° before T.D.C.

Generally, this system is very reliable. The black box hardly ever fails. The 3 wire sensors are reliable. In principle it is wise to carry a 22 key from a bicycle shop and 1-2 sensors as on board tools and parts (especially on journeys into foreign countries).

Rev limiter for Visa ignition:

Rev limiter, free adjustable with adjustable Hysteresis: The rev limiting turn off rpm is independantly adjustable from turn on rpm.
(Extremely fast gearchange. You accelerate up to the limit, hit the clutch, change gear, without lifting your foot from the floor!)
